Bass Strait is notoriously known as one of the most dangerous bodies of water in the world with strong wind, huge waves, and big sharks. By crossing Bass Strait Natalie wishes to raise awareness and funds to build a swimming facility to teach Autistic and other disabled children to swim.
Natalie is ranked 3rd in Australian kite boarding and has been training on distance kiting for this extreme event.
Donations can be made to the Not for Profit Swim 4 All Foundation via this website.
Training activities updated on Natalie’s blog:
It will be an extremely difficult challenge only attempted once before by
2 men who made it most of the way. Natalie believes the difficulty of the endeavour and the associated risks are well worth the cause. Being a mother of a child on the Autism spectrum she understands the need for specialist classes to improve the physical, mental, emotional and social lives of these very special children.
